Carpet Flooding

Actions must be taken within the first 24 hours after carpet is flooded. Otherwise odor and fungus will grow on the carpet and dry walls.

1.    Keep minimum traffic on the carpet until it is completely dry. The latex backing of carpet is very weak when it is wet and only regain its full strength after drying.

2.    Quickly remove all the furniture from  the carpet.

3.    Carpet cleaning specialists will extract water on the carpet and discard the carpet padding.

4.    Carpet fans will be installed under carpet to blow carpet.

5.    Install pad and carpet after carpet is completely dry (normally 2 or 3 days after water extraction)

Price: $15 trip, $0.5/ sf for water extraction; $15 trip, $1.0/sf for carpet installation (carpet padding  included already)

Tile Cleaning:  $0.5/sf
